Boring Politics
David Vance isn't impressed with David Cameron's election as Tory leader. He's even composed a little ditty:
"Climb every mountain, Ford every stream
Abandon Every Principle, until you reach your dream....."
I have been trying, and failing, to stay interested in the contest. There is nothing that Cameron has said or done that makes me want to vote for him any more than Tony Blair. I am underwhelmed by the whole thing.
Then again, there is a Chinese curse that says, "May you live in interesting times." Countries with interesting politics are often not very nice places to live. Perhaps turgid and deathly dull politics is a sign that we are all nicely comfortable now and don't really have much to worry about.
Which is fine, until someone comes along and messes it all up for us.
