The shape of racism
Don't you just love the United Nations?
Apparently, tomorrow is The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (nice snappy title, eh?) and so the UN has produced this poster to publicise it:
It is an inspired design. Here we see the dark shapes locked together against a single piece of Lego. Surely this is a reference to the campaign of racial hatred stirred up by Muslim leaders against Denmark (the home of Lego) and the vicious attacks on Danish people that resulted from it.
The lonely Lego brick graphically illustrates the struggle of the Danish people, deserted by their allies, against a power bloc united in its hatred of them.
Perhaps the UN is finally waking up to the challenge posed by militant Islam and its essentially sectarian and Arab-supremacist nature.
Or am I just being optimistic?
Nordish Portal, Anti-Jihad Pundit and Drinking from Home have a different interpretation.
BTW - Have you noticed that the UN Human Rights Commission's logo looks similar to that of Al-Jazeera?

I know foreign ad agencies can be a bit gnomic in their approach sometimes, but cannot see how it can be other than a dig at Denmark.
Here's a funny story showing how the Dutch are starting to grasp the nettle of immigration in their own inimitable fashion:

ap_on_re_eu/netherlands_testing_immigrants
"The camera focuses on two gay men kissing in a park. Later, a topless woman emerges from the sea and walks onto a crowded beach. For would-be immigrants to the Netherlands, this film is a test of their readiness to participate in the liberal Dutch culture.
If they can't stomach it, no need to apply.
Despite whether they find the film offensive, applicants must buy a copy and watch it if they hope to pass the Netherlands' new entrance examination.
The test — the first of its kind in the world — became compulsory Wednesday, and was made available at 138 Dutch embassies."
Smart move!

Its my childhood recollection that Lego was infinitely more fun than any jigsaw.

Very observant, Steve, they do look very much alike.

Keep attacking the Muslims! Keep attacking the Muslims!....and when the tv tells you to attack the Mormons, you'll be blogging against that, too. You should rename the place, 'Flunkies of the New World Order'.

Its quite an insidiously clever campaign because it works on two levels.
On one hand it says "All Danes are racist". But on the other it says "Look at those nasty black jiggies ganging-up on that poor isolated red Lego brick".
Thus satisfying both parties and reaffirming their bigotry. Either way its a bad move by the UN and I do wonder if they got permission from the guys at Lego (R) first.
Its about the same standard as the new anti-rape campaign featuring a woman with a no-entry sign on her knickers. They might as well have just said "woman = virgina on legs".
Where have all the decent copywriters gone, eh?

Your grandchildren will be blogging against the Mormons, Matan, when their cousins will have become Mormons themselves and converted you post-mortem. Keep in mind that J Smith is the bearer of the last, genuine revelation!
And the lego is anti-danish racism.
