Scooter! Back in the house! Yeah!

Another Friday Pub Jukebox.

After the Happy Hardcore that you all enjoyed so much (cough, cough) I thought I'd play some more.

For those of you who have never heard of Scooter, they are a bunch of German techno-heads. They've been around for years but last month they knocked Madonna off the top of the album chart with their latest release Jumping All Over the World, demonstrating that, contrary to popular belief, Happy Hardcore still  has a UK following.

Unless you are a fan of the band you might not realise that they are a bunch of old gits. Like some other 90s techno-bands, Scooter are now in their 40s - old enough to know better, you might say.

And if you're over 40, you might allow yourself a wry smile when you listen to this, the title track from their new album.

Yep. These guys are well mental.

There are a few other 70s and 80s rip offs on the album too, but they are for another day. ;-)

Comments

For those who want lots of Scooter listen to Clubland TV, Sky channel 378.

Hello Sailor!
Never mind Glass of Champagne from, I think, 1973?
I can detect March of The Mods from 10 years before that. And you don't hear that very often these days.

1975 according to their website Esmerelda.

March of the Mods - now I haven't heard that for 25+ years - and that was during the mod revival!

For some reason I cannot fathom, my sister loves listening to Skkooooootaaaahhhh (that's Scooter to the uninitiated).
