Monty, as far as I am aware, he still owns Fox - or at least has a majority stake.

This is pathetic. I have come to believe in the last few years that we have reached a point where big business (especially financial institutions and the media) now have more power and influence over domestic politics (and, in some cases, international affairs) than politicians do.
This is sad and scary.

Much of Murdoch's "news items" in his papers are puff-pieces about his own corporate products and services. How did this banal man become so influential?
